PALS 1-Day Update

The PALS Update Course is designed to refresh and reinforce the knowledge and clinical skills required for Paediatric Advanced Life Support. This one-day course combines pre-course self-study with a practical classroom session focused on reviewing key concepts, practising essential skills, and participating in simulated paediatric emergency scenarios (“Megacodes”).

The course is limited to a maximum of eight participants to ensure focused, hands-on learning. Participants must hold a valid PALS Provider certificate and be in possession of the most recent PALS Provider Manual.

Upon successful completion of the course assessments, participants will receive an updated American Heart Association (AHA) PALS Provider Certificate and earn 30 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), including Ethics.

Prerequisites/Eligibility:

Participants must hold a valid ACLS provider card at the time of booking and must be in possession of the most recent ACLS provider manual.

Aim and Objectives:

The aim of the PALS Update Course is to refresh and reinforce participants’ knowledge and clinical skills related to Paediatric Advanced Life Support.

Participants are required to complete pre-course preparation by studying the provider manual and completing the required online preparation prior to attending the course. The one-day classroom session focuses on reviewing key concepts, practising essential skills, and participating in simulated paediatric emergency scenarios (“Megacodes”) before completing the final assessments.

Target Audience:

This course is intended for healthcare professionals who currently hold a valid PALS Provider certificate that is nearing expiry and who wish to renew their PALS Provider status.

Preparation and Assessment:

Participants will receive instructions for pre-course preparation, which includes reviewing the most current edition of the PALS Provider Manual and completing the required online assessments prior to attending the one-day practical classroom session.

During the course, participants will review and demonstrate critical paediatric resuscitation skills and knowledge through practical scenarios and formal assessments.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the course requirements and assessments, participants will receive an updated American Heart Association (AHA) PALS Provider Certificate.
